Apple mysteriously removes $999.99 iPhone application from a German web developer. Six people purchased the application entitled ‘I Am Rich’. I’m confused as to why anyone would purchase such a crappy application, it does nothing except show a glowing red diamond icon. With so many applications being developed on a daily basis, I highly doubt that there was much value added downloading this application in hopes of it being a status symbol. If the web developer ever gets paid the $5,200.00 from the sale of this, he will surely be laughing his way back to developing another brainless app. You must love that such a stunt went overlooked for so long. I’m sure that if the trend caught on, there would be a slew of celebrities and ‘Big Ballers’ in NYC willing to throw down a $grand$ to give them some ‘App Apple Status’.
Thanks Bella for bringing this story to my attention.
